I'm ready for this sh*% to be over

  Greetings, earthlings.

Similar to a post on my other blog, this is how things are going: it's cold.

Last winter didn't really get to me like this one is. And that's because last winter was fall, turning directly to spring, turning into a few romantically token winter days/weeks, followed immediately by spring again.

This winter can suck it. Just when you think it's going to warm up again, temperatures drop, creating the dreaded black ice. Then four inches of snow falls, making it appear beautiful, but all the more treacherous. And it's only February. I can't seem to find a silver lining to this one. I want to be Belle from the Disney version of Beauty and the Beast where she's running, singing and dancing across the French countryside.

December 3, I think not

It was a high of 72 today in Chicago. Unbelievable! An acquaintance who recently moved to the Second City told me the other day that she didn't think the winter here was that bad. Right. Because it's not winter. It's spring. Here's hoping for cold weather, snow and warming by the fire to ring in the holidays!
