More morbid than it seems

What's the last thing people typically say when leaving the house for the day? Generally, people tell their loved ones that they love them.

"Goodbye. Have a good day. I love you."

Door closes.

Why do we all do that?

It's because we all know that there's a viable chance that someone isn't going to live through the day.

And who would want their last words to their significant other before they get run over by a bus to be, "Goodbye. Have a good day. I like peanut butter toast!"
